What is Riichi Mahjong?
Riichi Mahjong is a Japanese style of Mahjong, with a focus on skill and competitiveness. Additional rules that allow players to be more defensive and express their own playstyle. Riichi is fast becoming one of the most popular styles of Mahjong worldwide!
Weekly sessions
Auld Riichi Mahjong Club meets weekly at 1pm on Saturdays in the Hampton by Hilton in Fountainbridge.

What to expect
Anyone is welcome to join us and play (for free!) We have enough equipment for up to 4 setups, including one set with arabic numbers.
A lot of people have only ever played Riichi online and are concerned about the transition to physical tiles, scoring, etiquette. Don’t worry about it, everyone is friendly and willing to help, you’ll pick it up in no time!
Although if you have never played any Mahjong before, we ask that you at least watch a quick video of the rules overview and general structure of the game. After that it might be worth having a shot against some bots on Mahjongo (browser/mobile friendly)
